Urbane furniture sources furniture from all around the world using the best quality woods from American Oak to Solid Ash all finished to the highest standard in a multitude of finishes. The majority of our furniture comes fully assembled sometimes requiring only the handles to be put on. All products come with a years manufacturing guarantee and are packaged with the greatest of care and diligence. Our bespoke furniture is made in Scotland items are hand crafted to customers exact sizes and specifications, these are then hand delivered by the craftsman. We also keep you up to date with your order and details of the progress by emailing you directly on a weekly basis giving you the ultimate customer service.
Why choose solid wood furniture ? :
It is a renewable resource. It is fiscally responsible for any furniture manufacturer or lumberyard to replace the trees that they harvest for lumber. Typically they plant 3 or more trees of the same type ,for every one that they harvest. This provides them with the ability to sustain their profession. If they don’t have the trees to cut down they don’t have a business.
It can be refinished. If something should happen like a scratch or a dent the damage can be sanded out and you have a new fresh piece of furniture. Urbane furniture advise resurfacing a whole side should you need to refinish your solid wood furniture One of the beautiful things is that if you need it to be a different color all you have to to refinish it.
It's enviromentally friendly. Most of Urbane furniture's solid wood furniture is sold with a clear lacquer finish in either a glossy or satin finish. Other furniture is sold either painted or sold with a finishing oil, more often than not being tung oil. The choice is yours. Urbane furniture’s bespoke ranges we can finish the furniture off with any finish and in any colour.
Customisablility. Solid wood can be cut, carved and shaped into pretty much anything. This provides styles, details and looks that just can’t be obtained with any other material.
Cost effective. While it's true the initial up front cost of solid wood furniture can be pretty high the advantage is that it will never have to be replaced again (excluding fire, flood or something similar). If you add up the cost of replacing the particle board furniture over the years it actually cost much more than the up front costs of real quality wooden furniture.
Through the years your furniture will take age as we all do. A wee bit bashed around the edges. But, if you choose, the options are limitless, altering your furniture to meet your styles and looks could mean a wee sand down with an oil or varnish finish. Maybe a wee a bit of painting, feeling that way that you want to give something a bit of life again, maybe it’s therapeutic.
